Our Piedmont AHEC Scholars

Piedmont AHEC Scholars two-year Program – Scholars will meet in person in Greensboro, NC, to complete 20 hours of regional didactics each year during the scholars’ program. Additionally, all scholars must commit to attending the NC AHEC statewide Emerging Leaders in Healthcare Conference, where scholars convened from across the state over a weekend (February 7-9, 2025) to complete approximately 20 hours of didactics together, totaling 40 hours of didactic teaching each year. As your academic schedule permits, you must schedule forty hours of clinical experiential work per academic year, with a total of 80 hours of work completed within the two years.

Applicants selected for the program will receive a stipend subject to academic or institutional approval. Upon completing the program, NC AHEC Scholars receive the AHEC Community Health Scholar certification, setting them apart from other students in an increasingly competitive environment.
