Clinical Precepting Online Series
The Clinical Precepting Online Series is geared toward an interprofessional audience of clinical preceptors who work with students, residents, or other advanced learners completing academic or program requirements in a clinical environment. Participants may complete any combination of courses.
These courses prepare participants to manage clinical learning environments for health profession students effectively. The four courses cover the roles of clinical preceptors and host sites, legal considerations, and strategies for fostering adult learning through well-planned experiences. Participants will explore creating quality learning plans, setting outcomes, and providing constructive feedback. These courses emphasize practical communication, including cultural sensitivity, written and verbal methods, SBAR, and feedback tools for monitoring learner progress. Additionally, the series addresses managing challenging situations, resolving student performance issues, and conducting difficult conversations to support learner success.
